Website maintenance cost in Pakistan starts at PKR 5,000 a month for the cheapest stand-alone package we found (Website Pakistan’s Basic Care), other small business plans start at PKR 9,900 to 12,000 a month, and plans that include e-commerce support start at PKR 25,000 (Website Pakistan) to PKR 49,000 (FMEOS) a month. If you would rather do the routine work yourself, a maintenance plugin such as WP Toolkit Studio costs PKR 2,200 a month or PKR 15,000 a year. Every price here is a published package from a named Pakistani provider’s own page, checked on 25 October 2026.
We build and maintain WordPress sites for businesses in Pakistan, and we make WP Toolkit Studio, a WordPress security and backup plugin. We do not publish a maintenance retainer price of our own, so this guide compares other providers’ published packages, and uses WordPress.org’s own documentation for what maintenance should include.
What does website maintenance include?
Maintenance is the routine work that keeps a site safe, working and recoverable. For a WordPress site these are the tasks, and how often each one needs doing:
| Task | How often | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress minor and security releases | Automatic | WordPress has installed these in the background since version 3.7, and its documentation strongly discourages turning that off |
| Plugin and theme updates | Weekly, or automatic | Since WordPress 5.5 you can switch on auto-updates per plugin and theme, and WordPress then runs them twice a day |
| Backups of files and the database | Weekly for small sites, daily for busy ones, and before every update | WordPress’s backup guide says you need both parts to restore a site, and suggests keeping 3 to 5 recent backups in different places |
| Test a restore | Monthly | A backup you have never restored is a guess |
| Security scan and firewall check | Weekly | Finds malware and plugins with known holes |
| Uptime, forms and WhatsApp button | Daily monitoring, monthly manual test | Forms and chat buttons often fail without any error on screen |
| PHP version | Twice a year | PHP 8.2 stops getting security fixes on 31 December 2026 |
| SSL certificate | Monthly check | A failed renewal shows every visitor a security warning |
| Speed check | Monthly | New plugins and large images slowly add weight |
| Content edits: prices, staff, offers | As needed | The part you notice most, and the part packages limit by hours or requests |
The test-a-restore and monthly checks are our recommendation; the rest comes from WordPress.org’s auto-updates guide and backup guide, and the PHP date from php.net.
Why updates cannot wait: Patchstack’s State of WordPress Security in 2026 counted 11,334 new vulnerabilities in the WordPress ecosystem in 2025, 91% of them in plugins and 9% in themes. About half of the high-impact ones were exploited within 24 hours, and 46% were not fixed by their developer in time for public disclosure. That last number is why maintenance is more than clicking Update: someone has to notice when a plugin you rely on has a known hole and no fix, then replace it.
How much does website maintenance cost in Pakistan?
We looked for Pakistani web companies that publish maintenance prices on their own websites, rather than “contact us” pages. Four did. Here are their packages as listed on 25 October 2026:
| Provider and plan | Published price | What the page lists |
|---|---|---|
| Website Pakistan, Basic Care | PKR 5,000 a month, or PKR 51,000 a year | WordPress core and plugin updates, daily offsite backups, uptime monitoring, a monthly security scan, SSL renewal, broken link checks, one content change a month, a monthly report |
| Website Pakistan, Professional | PKR 12,000 a month, or PKR 122,400 a year | Adds unlimited content changes with 24-hour turnaround, a monthly performance report, emergency hack recovery and priority WhatsApp support |
| Website Pakistan, Enterprise | PKR 25,000 a month, or PKR 255,000 a year | Adds payment gateway monitoring, product catalog help and a 2-hour emergency response, for online stores |
| FMEOS, Basic | From PKR 9,900 a month | 1 to 3 service requests, up to 2 support hours, 0 to 5 day turnaround, content updates and link repairs |
| FMEOS, Pro | From PKR 49,000 a month | 1 to 8 requests, up to 6 support hours, 0 to 3 day turnaround, CMS and e-commerce support, SEO work |
| Zera Creative, maintenance add-on | From PKR 10,000 a month | The page does not list what is included |
| Pakish.NET, Go WordPress | Rs 4,500 a month, billed annually at Rs 54,000 | Managed hosting for one WordPress site with managed updates, daily off-site backups, malware scanning and removal |
FMEOS also lists a Premium plan from PKR 193,000 a month for several websites, and one-off work at PKR 4,500 to 5,500 an hour. Pakish.NET’s headline on the same page says “from PKR 8,000/mo”, so confirm the price before you pay. Website Pakistan says its plans are month to month with 30 days’ notice, and that annual billing saves 15%.

“From” prices are starting points, and the plans are not the same job. When you compare them, check five things: how many hours or requests you get, the response time in an emergency, where backups are stored, whether a restore and a hack cleanup are included, and what happens to unused hours. For where maintenance sits in the total cost of owning a site, see our guide to website prices in Pakistan.
DIY, plugin or retainer: which costs less?
| Option | Yearly cost for one site | Who does the work | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself with WordPress’s built-in tools and free plugins | PKR 0 in software | You, every week | Owners comfortable in wp-admin with a simple site |
| A maintenance plugin (WP Toolkit Studio) | PKR 15,000 a year, PKR 2,200 a month, or PKR 35,000 once for lifetime use | The plugin runs backups, scans and safe updates; you read the alerts | Owners who look after their own site, and agencies with many client sites |
| A maintenance retainer | PKR 51,000 to about PKR 120,000 at the lowest published tiers | The provider, within the hours or requests in the plan | Owners who want someone accountable, and stores where downtime costs sales |
| Managed WordPress hosting | Rs 54,000 with hosting (Pakish.NET Go) | The host, for the technical tasks | Sites that also need new hosting |
Worked example, three years for one business site, if today’s prices hold: WP Toolkit Studio costs PKR 35,000 on the lifetime plan or PKR 45,000 on the yearly plan. Website Pakistan’s Basic Care on annual billing costs PKR 153,000. FMEOS Basic at its starting price costs PKR 356,400. The retainers include a person’s time for edits and fixes and the plugin does not, so the real question is what your own time each month is worth, and whether you want to be the one who gets the call when the site is down.
What does a maintenance plugin cover, and what does it not?
WP Toolkit Studio, our plugin, puts the routine technical tasks in one place:
- A web application firewall that starts in learning mode, then blocks, with rate limits.
- A malware scanner that compares core, plugin and theme files byte for byte with WordPress.org’s official checksums.
- Login protection: a hidden login URL, brute-force lockout and two-factor authentication.
- Backups to the server, Nextcloud, Amazon S3 or S3-compatible storage, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, FTP or FTPS, and SFTP, keeping a set number of daily, weekly and monthly copies.
- Safe auto-updates, off by default. When you turn them on, a full backup runs first.
- Checks for publicly disclosed plugin vulnerabilities, using a free WPScan API key.
- Fleet, one dashboard for every client site, for agencies.
What it does not do: edit your content, fix a layout that breaks after an update, or decide whether to replace a plugin with a known hole. It is not a caching plugin either, so keep your host’s cache. Those jobs need a person, and that is what a retainer sells. It runs on WordPress 5.8 or newer with PHP 7.4 or newer, and each plan covers one website.
What should a maintenance agreement say?
Whoever you hire, get these points in writing before you pay:
- The exact tasks and how often each is done (use the first table in this guide).
- Where backups are stored, how many are kept, and whether restoring one costs extra.
- The response time for an emergency, and the hours support answers, in Pakistan time.
- Whether malware cleanup after a hack is included or billed by the hour.
- How many content changes or hours you get each month, and whether unused hours carry over.
- A monthly report listing updates installed, backups taken and problems found.
- The notice period, and how you get your logins and latest backup when you leave.
- That the domain, hosting and WordPress administrator account stay in your name.
If you want us to look after a site we built or one you already have, our website development service covers ongoing support, quoted for your site after a free call.
A monthly routine if you maintain the site yourself
- Take a backup, then open Dashboard > Updates and install pending updates.
- Check that the scheduled backup ran, and download one copy to a computer or a cloud drive. Our WordPress backup and restore guide shows how to test that it restores.
- Open Tools > Site Health and fix anything marked critical. WordPress says this is also where scheduled tasks, which auto-updates depend on, show errors.
- Send yourself a message through your own contact form, and tap the WhatsApp and call buttons on a phone.
- Check the PHP version under Site Health > Info > Server, and plan a move off PHP 8.2 before the end of 2026. Our guide to the right PHP version for WordPress explains how to switch safely.
- Delete plugins, themes and user accounts nobody uses.
- Run PageSpeed Insights on the home page and your main service page, and compare with last month.
Summary
Published stand-alone website maintenance packages in Pakistan start at PKR 5,000 a month (Website Pakistan), with other small business plans from PKR 9,900 to 12,000 a month and plans with e-commerce support from PKR 25,000 to 49,000 a month, as checked on 25 October 2026. Compare what each plan includes, not only the price: hours, response time, off-site backups, restores and hack cleanup. If you prefer to do the routine work yourself, WP Toolkit Studio handles backups, scans, the firewall and safe updates for PKR 15,000 a year or PKR 35,000 once.
