Sialkot exporters are easy to find on Google Maps, but a buyer who clicks through to their websites often finds much less. Of 204 sportswear and sports goods makers listed there, 48 (23.5%) show no website, 26 list a website that does not work, and only 72 (35.3%) lead to a site with five basics a foreign buyer expects: it loads, it moves visitors to HTTPS, it fits a phone, it shows an email or phone number, and it has an inquiry form. We re-checked every listed site on 24 October 2026 and publish totals only, with no business named.
We build websites for businesses in Pakistan, and we wanted real numbers on exporter websites instead of impressions. We wrote the checking script ourselves, saved every page it read, and took the buyer checklist at the end from CBI, the export promotion center that is part of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, rather than from our own opinion.
What we found: Sialkot exporters’ websites at a glance
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| Google Maps listings studied | 204 |
| No website on the listing | 48 (23.5%) |
| A social profile listed as the website | 4 (2%) |
| Website listed but not working | 26 (12.7%) |
| Working website | 122 (59.8%) |
| Could not be checked (blocked our checker or Pakistan) | 4 (2%) |
| Working sites with all five basics | 72 of 122 (59%) |
| Listings that lead to a site with all five basics | 72 of 204 (35.3%) |
If your listing falls in one of the weak groups, most fixes are small. Our website development team can repair a broken site or build a new one with these basics in place.
How many Sialkot sportswear makers have a working website?
The 204 listings pointed to 152 different websites. 122 of them (80.3%) worked, 26 (17.1%) did not, and 4 could not be checked: 3 answered our script with an access block, and one shows a “blocked for this country” message to visitors from Pakistan.
The 26 sites that did not work failed in these ways:
- 12 domains no longer resolve. The name has expired or its DNS was removed, so the browser cannot find a server.
- 5 show an under-construction or maintenance page, or an empty server folder.
- 3 did not answer within 15 seconds, over http or https.
- One each shows an expired-domain notice, a suspended hosting account, a server error, a “page not found” error, a password wall that asks buyers to email for access, and a PDF on Google Drive instead of a website.
Most of these have simple fixes: renew the domain, restore a backup, or remove the website link from the listing until a new site is ready. Until then, every buyer who clicks the website button on the listing lands on an error. Our guide on how to rank on Google Maps covers the rest of the listing.
One pattern stood out. Listings with a working site had a median of 10.5 Google reviews; listings with no website had 2. That does not prove a website brings reviews. More active businesses probably do both.
Do their websites work on phones and use HTTPS?
Mostly yes. 120 (98.4%) of the 122 working sites have a mobile viewport tag, which tells a phone to fit the page to its screen. Google indexes the mobile version of a page; its documentation says it uses “the mobile version of a site’s content” for indexing and ranking.
HTTPS is available on 120 (98.4%), but only 95 (77.9%) send a visitor who types the plain http address to the secure version. On 19 others the http address stays on an insecure page, on 6 it does not answer at all, and 2 sites have no working HTTPS. Chrome has marked every http page as “Not secure” since Chrome 68 in July 2018, which is not the first impression an exporter wants. The fix is usually a redirect rule or a setting in the hosting panel.
Can a foreign buyer contact them from the homepage?
Usually. 110 (90.2%) show an email address or phone number on the homepage: email on 100 (82%) and a phone number on 106 (86.9%). A WhatsApp click-to-chat link is rarer: 63 (51.6%) have one on the homepage, and 68 (55.7%) counting the contact page. Only 56 (45.9%) show email, phone and WhatsApp together on the homepage.
Inquiry forms are the bigger gap. Only 27 (22.1%) have a form on the homepage. Counting the contact page the homepage links to, 94 (77%) do. The rest expect a buyer to write an email from scratch. 38 (31.1%) use wording such as “request a quote” or “request a sample”, and 9 (7.4%) run a live chat widget.
A WhatsApp link only works in the right format: WhatsApp’s click-to-chat help page says to use https://wa.me/ followed by the full number in international format, without zeros, brackets or dashes, so a Sialkot mobile number starts with 92. Our free WhatsApp link generator builds the link and a pre-filled message.
What do the sites tell a buyer about the business?
The page title is the line Google shows in results. 72 (59%) of the working sites say what the business is in the title (manufacturer, exporter, supplier, factory, wholesale or OEM), but only 26 (21.3%) mention Sialkot or Pakistan, although searches such as “sportswear manufacturers in sialkot” appear in Google autocomplete. 12 titles start with the word “Home”, and 84 (68.9%) sites have a meta description.
On the homepage text itself:
- 74 (60.7%) mention custom, OEM or private-label work.
- 39 (32%) state a minimum order quantity (MOQ).
- 28 (23%) mention a catalog.
- 14 (11.5%) name a certification or standard. ISO 9001 is the most common, on 9 sites; BSCI appears on 2.
- 3 (2.5%) offer a second language version that we could detect.
- 20 of the 82 sites that show a copyright year still show 2023 or earlier.
Titles, descriptions and on-page wording are the ground floor of search visibility; our SEO and AI search optimization service covers them for businesses that want to be found by name and product.

Which platforms do Sialkot exporters build on?
WordPress dominates. 65 of the 122 working sites (53.3%) run on it, 53 of them with the Elementor page builder and 47 loading WooCommerce. We also found OpenCart on 6, Wix and Shopify on 3 each, and JavaScript frameworks such as React and Next.js on 4. For 38 sites (31.1%) no platform was visible, which usually means custom code or static HTML.
The homepage HTML alone, before any images, had a median size of 205 KB; 13 were over 500 KB and 4 over 1 MB. From our connection in Pakistan the HTML took a median 3 seconds to arrive, including redirects, and 28 of 121 took more than 5 seconds. Heavy builders and slow hosting are the usual causes; our WordPress speed optimization guide lists the fixes in order.
What do foreign B2B buyers look for on a supplier’s website?
CBI’s guide 10 tips for finding buyers in the European apparel market says being untraceable online is “a first hint to potential buyers that you run an unprofessional organisation”. It also notes that few buyers use search engines to find new suppliers, so the website’s main job is to confirm what a buyer heard at a fair, on a sourcing platform or from a contact. Use this checklist:
- The site loads, on a phone, over HTTPS. Renew the domain and hosting early and redirect every http address to https.
- Say who you are in the title and first screen: manufacturer or exporter, your main products, and Sialkot, Pakistan.
- Sell the company, not only the product. CBI says “selling your company is even more important than selling your product” and suggests showing your people, not just machines.
- Show compliance you actually hold. CBI’s buyer requirements page says “BSCI is almost a standard requirement for many European apparel companies” and lists standards such as SA8000, Sedex, WRAP, OEKO-TEX STeP and GOTS. Name each one with its scope and date.
- State your MOQ and specialties. CBI asks suppliers to list their specialized products, target group, average MOQ and certificates on matchmaking platform profiles; put the same facts on your site.
- Use consistent product photos from several angles, with fabric and detail shots, as CBI recommends.
- Give every way to reach you: email, phone in +92 format, a wa.me WhatsApp link and an inquiry form with a file upload for designs.
- Reply fast. CBI advises confirming every email inquiry within a day, even if the full answer comes later.
- Add a second language if you target a non-English market; CBI suggests offering your website in multiple languages.
- Keep it current. CBI notes that a website requires maintenance; an old copyright year or dead product pages tell a buyer the opposite.
How we did this
Sample. We started from 205 Google Maps listings collected on 16 October 2026 with 18 searches: sportswear, sports gloves, sublimation sportswear, sports uniform, boxing gloves and sports goods manufacturers, each in Sialkot, Ugoki and Daska Road. We removed one listing that was a second location of a business already in the list, leaving 204. Our lead tool had flagged 32 of these for sales reasons, such as an inactive Instagram account or a chain store. That flag says nothing about a website, so we kept those listings. Most listings are manufacturers; a few are shops or service businesses that appeared in the same searches.
Checks. On 24 October 2026 a Python script fetched each listed website once, starting from its http:// address and following redirects, with a user agent naming handicraftm.com, a 15-second timeout and no more than 2 requests per second. If http did not reach an https page, it tried https once. It read the homepage and, when the homepage linked one, the contact page. 7 sites that build their pages with JavaScript, or blocked the script, were opened once in headless Chrome instead. We saved every page, and the counts come from pattern checks on those pages: a viewport tag, mailto and tel links or visible addresses and numbers, wa.me links, forms with a message box or email field (not search or newsletter boxes), and platform files.
What this data cannot show. It covers Google Maps listings from these searches, not every exporter in Sialkot; larger exporters may not list a website on Maps or may not appear in these results. We read only the homepage and one contact page, so a form or certificate elsewhere on the site is not counted, and text inside images or PDFs is missed. A site that was down that night may be back the next day. Timing comes from one connection in Pakistan and covers the HTML only, not a full page load. We did not judge design, photos or reply speed.
Summary
Sialkot exporters are easy to find on Google Maps, but a buyer who clicks through often hits a dead link, an http page or a contact page with no form. In our check only 72 of 204 listings (35.3%) led to a site with all five basics. The fixes are cheap: renew the domain, force HTTPS, add a WhatsApp link and an inquiry form, and show your MOQ and real certificates. If you want this done properly, our website development service builds websites for manufacturers and other businesses in Pakistan.
