Local SEO in Pakistan means showing up when people in your city search for what you sell, on Google Maps and in the normal results. The Google Business Profile is the base, but most of the work happens on your website and around the web: a page for each service and each real branch, LocalBusiness schema, the same details on the listings Pakistanis actually use, steady reviews, wording that matches how people type, including Roman Urdu and neighborhood names, and tracking that ties calls and WhatsApp messages back to search. Our guide to ranking on Google Maps covers the profile itself; this guide covers everything around it.

We do SEO for businesses in Pakistan and build their websites, and these are the steps our SEO and local search service works through. The search examples come from Google’s autocomplete for Pakistan, checked on 25 October 2026, and every rule comes from Google’s own documentation.

What does local SEO cover beyond the Google Maps profile?

PartWhat it meansWhere to start
Service pagesOne page for each main service, written for the area you serveYour top three services by revenue
Location pagesOne page for each real branch or officeOnly branches with their own address and staff
Structured dataLocalBusiness markup that matches the pageHome page and each location page
ListingsYour name, address and phone on other sitesPlatforms your customers already use
ReviewsA steady flow on Google and on your industry’s platformAsk every customer the same day
Search wordingThe words people type: English, Roman Urdu and area namesAutocomplete and Search Console

Google’s local ranking help page says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence, and that prominence is “based on info like how many websites link to your business and how many reviews you have”. You cannot change distance, so everything in this guide works on the other two.

How do you build city and service pages without making doorway pages?

Google’s spam policies say “Doorway abuse is when sites or pages are created to rank for specific, similar search queries.” One of the examples Google gives is “Having multiple domain names or pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page.” Twenty copies of one page with the city name swapped is exactly that. What works instead:

  • A page per service, not per keyword. Root canal treatment and dental implants are separate services with separate pages. “Root canal Lahore” and “root canal in Lahore” are the same search and need one page.
  • A location page only where you have a real presence: an address, staff, hours and directions that differ from your other branches.
  • Areas served in the text, not as separate pages. Name the neighborhoods you cover on the service page and in its FAQ.

Neighborhoods matter more than many owners expect. Google’s suggestions for “dentist in lahore” included DHA, Gulberg, Cantt and Johar Town, and “skin specialist in karachi” completed with Saddar, FB Area, Gulshan Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Malir and Gulistan e Jauhar. People narrow their search to their own area, so a clinic in Johar Town should say so in plain words. The same suggestions included the names of doctor booking platforms, which is a hint about where patients look next.

A location page should have:

  • The branch name, full address and a phone number answered at that branch, as text, not only inside an image.
  • Opening hours, with Friday and Ramadan timings if they differ.
  • Directions from a known landmark, parking notes and an embedded map.
  • Photos of that branch, outside and inside.
  • The services offered there, with prices where you can.
  • The staff or doctors who work there.
  • A WhatsApp button for that branch’s number; our WhatsApp link generator builds the link.

What LocalBusiness schema should a Pakistani business add?

Google’s LocalBusiness structured data guide lists two required properties, name and address. It recommends telephone with the country and area code, url, geo coordinates with at least 5 decimal places, openingHoursSpecification, and priceRange under 100 characters. Use the most specific type that fits, such as Dentist, Restaurant or Plumber. Here is a template for one branch; replace every value with your own, and add postalCode if your address has one:

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Dentist",
  "name": "Example Dental Clinic",
  "url": "https://example.com/johar-town/",
  "telephone": "+92-42-0000000",
  "address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "streetAddress": "Plot 00, Block X, Johar Town",
    "addressLocality": "Lahore",
    "addressRegion": "Punjab",
    "addressCountry": "PK"
  },
  "geo": {
    "@type": "GeoCoordinates",
    "latitude": 31.00000,
    "longitude": 74.00000
  },
  "openingHoursSpecification": [{
    "@type": "OpeningHoursSpecification",
    "dayOfWeek": ["Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday", "Thursday", "Saturday"],
    "opens": "10:00:00",
    "closes": "20:00:00"
  }]
}

Three rules keep it honest. Mark up only what readers can see on the page, which Google’s general structured data guidelines require. Do not add review or aggregateRating for your own business, because Google recommends those properties only for sites that capture reviews about other local businesses. And expect no guarantee: Google says correct markup does not guarantee a rich result. Its value is removing doubt about your name, address, phone and hours.

Which listings and directories matter in Pakistan?

Listings help twice: customers find you on them directly, and they are among the websites that mention and link to you. A complete profile on the platform your customers use beats fifty thin directory entries.

PlatformWho it suitsWhat we checked, October 2026
Google Business ProfileEvery business customers visit or callCovered in our Maps and verification guides
Apple Business (Apple Maps place cards)Businesses with iPhone-using customersApple lists Brand and Location Management as available in Pakistan
Zameen.com agents directoryProperty dealers and real estate agenciesA public directory of agents and agencies

Chambers of commerce and trade bodiesTraders, manufacturers and exportersLCCI’s Directory of Trade and Industry 2026 lists 51,708 businesses, according to APP
Facebook and Instagram business pagesShops, restaurants, salonsOften the first place customers check hours

Write your details the same way everywhere: the same business name, the same phone number and the same address format, not “Shop 4” on one site and “Shop No. 4” on another. Create one listing per real location. Keep a sheet with each platform, the login email and the date you last checked it, and use an email address the business owns, not a staff member’s personal one.

How should you handle reviews beyond Google?

In some industries customers read platform reviews before Google’s: patients on doctor booking sites, buyers on the marketplace where they found you. Reply there as you would on Google, briefly and to the point. Never offer anything in return for a review, a rule our Maps guide explains in detail. On your own site, quote real reviews as plain text on the matching service page, with the customer’s permission, rather than as star markup.

Should you target Roman Urdu searches?

Many people in Pakistan type Urdu in Latin letters, often mixed with English. Autocomplete shows which phrasings exist, not how many people use them. Here is what Google suggested for Pakistan on 25 October 2026:

You typeGoogle suggestsWhat it tells you
plumber ka numberchahie, near me, bataiye, kya hai, listPeople want a phone number, so show yours as text on every page
ac repair walanear me, number, ac service wala“Wala” phrasing is normal for trades
jild ka doctorjild ka doctor karachi, skin ka doctor near meMixed English and Roman Urdu is common
daant ka doctordant ka doctor near me, kahan hai, and Indian cities such as Ranchi and DhanbadRoman Urdu overlaps with Hindi searches, so always name your city
ac service lahoreprice list, dha, contact number, olxPeople want prices and their area
gari ka mistriNo suggestionsNot every phrase is searched, so check before you write

Use the common phrases where they read naturally, for example as FAQ questions, and keep each page mainly in one language. If you publish Urdu script pages, Google’s multilingual guidance says it uses a page’s visible content to decide its language, recommends a separate URL for each language version, and advises against side-by-side translations. Our study of Roman Urdu keywords covers the patterns across more than a hundred topics.

How do you track local SEO results?

What to measureWhereNotes
Searches, calls, website clicks, directions, messages, bookingsBusiness Profile performanceIncludes Google Ads; the searches metric updates at the start of each month and can take up to 5 days
Visits from your profile’s website linkGoogle Analytics, with a tagged linkUTM values are case sensitive, so pick lowercase and stick to it
Searches containing your city or areaSearch Console Performance reportFilter queries by “lahore”, “dha” and similar
WhatsApp and call clicks on the siteGoogle Analytics eventsCount clicks on wa.me and tel: links
Leads by sourceA simple sheetAsk every new customer how they found you

A tagged profile link looks like this:

https://example.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=business-profile

The parameters come from Google Analytics’ own URL builder guide. Compare each month with the same month last year where you can, because Ramadan and Eid shift demand in many trades.

A 30-day local SEO plan

  1. Week 1: complete and verify your Business Profile (our verification guide covers video checks), list your main services and real branches, and make the name, address and phone match on your website.
  2. Week 2: write or rewrite one page per main service, name the areas you serve, and add LocalBusiness markup to the home page and each location page. Test it with Google’s Rich Results Test.
  3. Week 3: claim or correct five to ten listings on platforms your customers use, and record every login.
  4. Week 4: start a same-day review request routine, tag your profile’s website link, set up Search Console filters, and write down this month’s numbers as your baseline.

After that, each month: one new useful page or FAQ, new photos, replies to every review, and a check that your listings still match.

Summary

Local SEO in Pakistan goes beyond the Maps profile: one page per service and per real branch, no city-swapped doorway pages, LocalBusiness markup with a +92 phone number and PK address, consistent listings on the platforms your customers use, steady reviews, wording that matches English, Roman Urdu and neighborhood searches, and tracking that ties calls and WhatsApp messages to search. If you want this done for you, our SEO and local search service covers the profile, the website and AI search together.
